The 2008 Elizabeth Celtic Festival
Dunvegan Lane Detailed Map
(Dunvegan ("Dun-vay-gun") Castle is the home of Clan MacLeod ("Mac-Cloud"), a legendary castle
in a land full of historic castles and keeps. We chose to name a path after Dunvegan Castle, in part, because of its
association with the MacCrimmons, a family of outstanding piping performers, composers and teachers that lived in the
1600s and 1700s and who served as the clan pipers to the MacLeods. Further, the Renaissance Scots portray Clan
MacLeod, and their tented village (complete with blacksmith) is on this path. Finally, the actual Clan MacLeod Society
attends this Festival and we salute the Clan as a stalwart supporter of Scottish culture and activity in Scotland and Colorado.
