Camping at the 2012 Elizabeth Celtic Festival

Information about the Camping Area.

Last year, Elizabeth Parks and Rec. District had improved the camping area at Casey Jones Park, to include Electricity and Water Hook-ups for 22 sites, along with electricity for 4 tent sites. ALL "UP-HILL" CAMPING RESERVATIONS WILL NOW BE HANDLED BY THE ELIZABETH PARKS AND REC. DISTRICT. BY CALLING 720-215-7650.

As of July, 2011, there is a new website under construction by Elizabeth Parks and Recreation District to handle reservations. Click on this link to see RV Camping Map and Information at Casey's RV Hideaway in the Pines. Unfortunately, the reservation function is still not yet operational. The RV Campground and its website are not managed by the Elizabeth Celtic Festival Association.

There are rules and regulations that come with the improvements, and changes in the accessibility to the upper side (east side) of Casey Jones Park. The cost for each site is $30 PER NIGHT (the tent sites are less). (Therefore, three nights is $90.) There will be restrictions on the number of vehicles allowed be site (one vehicle per site allowed). Additional vehicles will need to be parked elsewhere, where they are allowed (whether that is in the official Festival parking at $2 per car per day, or at Evans Park, a quarter mile west).

The Elizabeth Celtic Festival Association no longer is involved with managing the east side (upper area) of Casey Jones Park, either for camping, or for access. No vehicle access is possible (or allowed) for vendors, clans or others, from the campground directly to either the Vendor Row or Clan Row...the loop that once existed is now broken or separated by a berm, rocks and freshly planted trees. All issues in this area will be handled by the Elizabeth Parks and Rec. District. During the Festival, there will be an EPR "Camp Host" present at the park, to deal with all camping placements, concerns or issues. The supervising EPR board member insists that non-registered vehicles will be towed (at the owner's expense) at any time.

Information on the nearest lodging

Lower Area (west side) Primitive Camping

A limited amount of primitive camping locations in the west side (downhill of the park) will be organized through the committees that have performers or staff who are comfortable with less developed locations.

If you want to be in the downhill part of the camping, you should contact the Celtic Festival committee that you're involved with: Clans--contact Janet;Vendors--contact Wendy; Performers--contact Lauren; Living History--have your director talk to Cliff Hunter (Ren Scots). This downhill area is not meant for the general public, but, instead, for the performers and other registered festival participants.

All campers using the Lower Area must first check-in and be assigned a specific camping location. You will receive a "proof of registration" sheet of paper, which will allow you to get into the lower camping area from the parking lot, since the regular park gate will be closed to vehicles during the "open hours" of the festival.

HIGH WILDFIRE DANGER IS NORMAL FOR JULY:
All campers should come with propane or fuel stoves. No charcoal grills are allowed. (The wildfire danger can go from Moderate to High with a day or two of high winds and higher temperatures).
