A Norse Community

"It means, in Icelandic, A place where the Gods go in good times to do crafts and blacksmithing. We roughly translate that to Garden of the Gods."

Historical Reenactment / Living History

Idavellr Vikings (roughly pronounced as "Ich-o-bar") started off with a 'bang' the summer of 2010. (Or shall we say with the 'twang' of a bow and arrow!) We represent how Norse people lived during the Viking Age, traditionally circa 700 C.E. to 1066 C.E. Our members portray Norse people from various countries sometime during that period. Nearly everything we have is hand-made, from our clothes and shoes to our kettle and knives. During our presentation, we display things we've made that Norse people would have had, and work on Viking-Age crafts, such as shoe making, nålbinding, tablet weaving, spindle spinning, and so on. We educate people who come by about Norse people.

Idavellr Vikings' Crafter's Guild

We invite anyone who is interested in ancient crafting to join our Guild, whether or not you are a member of the SCA, acting clubs, portraying Saxon, Roman, Norse, etc. Our guild is separate from our living history group, and you may join both or just one if you wish. We've encountered lots of people who are members of other groups who want to hone their crafting skills. If that is you, this is your Guild! We meet at least once a month and alternate locations, sometimes in the Colorado Springs, CO area and sometimes in the Denver, CO area.
