The 2010 Elizabeth Celtic Festival
The Romans: Legio II Adiutrix
Legion II Adiutrix is an Imperial Roman living-history/reenacting group that was
founded in September 2007. Its members portray the Roman soldiers and citizens of ancient Rome circa
75 AD. The goal of the unit is to accurately portray the life and times of the ancient Romans for
public education and entertainment, and to promote a better understanding of ancient Roman history
among its members and the public in general. II Adiutrix is based in Colorado Springs, CO.
This group was formed in AD2003 by
like-minded history buffs along Colorado's Front Range. The group consists of both civilians
and legionnaires who dress, arm, and encamp in the period of first-century Imperial Romans.
The cohort's arms, armor, accoutrements, and siege engines are exacting replicas of original artifacts.
The cohort participates in educational and historical presentations throughout the region.

They often participate at Scottish/Celtic Festivals throughout Colorado since the Roman Empire once extended to
its furthest frontier at the Antonine Wall that stretched from the Firth of Forth to the Clyde River
across the 'waist' of Scotland. The Romans
made efforts to subdue what is now Scotland...the Antonine Wall was Rome's
"Northwest Frontier".
There will be two presentations each day:
Roman Festivals and Gods (a 15 minute presentation at 11:15 a.m.)
Roman Weapons and Tactics (a 15 minute presentation at 2:15 p.m.)
