2007 Elizabeth Celtic Festival
Ceili (Party / Dance)
In Irish Gaelic, it's "Ceili." In Scots Gaelic, it's "Ceilidh." Either way, it's pronounced "Kay-lee."
It means a party, with music, dancing, singing, and visiting with friends both new and old.
The fun starts at 7:00 p.m. at the Pavilion Building ("The Edinburgh Stage" and "Saucy Wench Pub") at Casey Jones Park (on the grounds of the Festival),
with mainline entertainment provided by Gobs O'Phun and the Old School Ceili Band.
There will also be Highland dancers, pipers, plus everyone can learn some easy Celtic Country Dances. Nora Parker will be the caller.
The Saucy Wench Pub will be open.
Admission to the Ceili is FREE, as an encouragement to support the Benefit Community BBQ Dinner starting at 6:00 p.m.
at the "Benefit Breakfast Tent" next to the "Edinburgh Stage" & "Saucy Wench Pub" (the Pavilion Building).
