Colorado Springs Old Boys win Rick Carlson Cup
during great weekend of rugby!

Mates--

It was truly a great weekend of rugby in Elizabeth at the Celtic Festival. A full side of CSOBs defeated a Barbo's squad populated with a variety of helpers 10 tries to 2 to win the Rick Carlson Cup for the fifth time in nine tries. The sides met at midfield after the match to toast Rick, Greg Carver and other teammates who are no longer with us. The fun lasted till after 4PM Sunday when the keg donated by the Breckenridge Brewery finally ran out. (Thanks, Stu)

Photos of the various old boys in kilts are available on request, but who would want one? YouTube already rejected several...

On Saturday, we played a spirited 13-on-a-side all-comers match with assorted Harlequins, NoCos, Colorado Springs players and others. After 50 minutes with the score 4-2 the match ended and all adjourned to the shade and beer. Thanks to all who showed up and palyed.

A key aspect of the weekend were the contributions of new recruits on and off the pitch and more connections with prospects to grow the club. Everyone keep looking for potential CSOBs and have them join the MeetUp site or send their contact info to me.

And a special thanks to all who helped make the weekend such a success. Brad's elbow is recovering nicely. He dislocated it, but his doctor said that it didn't need surgery. He's been taking it easy on it, and should be back to 100% soon.

Thanks for a great weekend. The Elizabeth Celtic Fest is always fun. We're looking forward to next year.

Thanks for everything, Cheers, Tim & Jeff
